C. S. Barrett writes about the inner life — what it takes to know your own mind in a century that profits from your not knowing it. He is the author of two books, both published in 2026.

His first book, Gurumind & the 48 Laws of Power, is a collection of fifty short observations about the inner world, drawn from the convergence of teachers who never met — the Buddha and Marcus Aurelius, Eckhart Tolle and Pema Chödrön, Rumi and Viktor Frankl. His second, The Way Home, is a complete manual for waking up: a guide to Eastern spiritual philosophy rewritten for a Western reader in the conditions of the modern century.

He writes from the Pacific Northwest, reads more than he publishes, and is at work on a third book.
